Pipper Angelina - "Belarusian girl"

I am a Belarusian girl
Blonde hair like wheat
And eyes like cornflowers in field
Here I am
Here I am
I am a Belarusian girl

Fantastic pictures of Yazep Drozdovich

Yazep Drozdovich this Belarusian painter. He lived the first half of the 20th century. He was born in a poor family, he studied at the art school in Vilnius. Created cycles of paintings "The nature of Belarus", "Polotsk land", "Scorina." I like many of his paintings. Futuristic paintings occupy a special place in the art. His paintings stagger the imagination. Just look them up and understand me.

This is a link to a site dedicated to the works Drozdovich: You can see all pictures of the artist on the site. I will post below only some of them.

DiDuLa's guitar

DiDuLa is one of the musicians who is in great demand on the post-soviet territory where for some last years there were on the thousands of sell-out performances.

DiDuLa is a composer and a sound-producer as well of his own music. He is a founder of a modern instrumental genre in Belarus. DiDuLa found his own style of guitar playing different from any one, his own manner, his own choreography. There is no example like his creative work in the guitar-playing world.

His concert-performance is a serie of sound, light, dance, beautiful melodies and the most powerful positive energy. And all this DiDuLa is creating with no single word during whole show.

DiDuLa has recorded and issued 16 sole instrument CD. Now DiDuLa's MP-3 music is being sold round the world.

Spring in Halch

Spring has come. Yeaterday I and my colleague went to the river bank. We shot the video with our students, we have been preparing for the competition. I took a few pictures, too. I wanted to show you how looks my Halch in spring.

Do you remember last year's spring pictures? There was a flood and the water rose very high. Now you can compare photos of last year and this year.

Belarusian folk song "Kanushnia" (A Stable)

I suggest you to listen to the Belarusian folk song. This song is popular enough in my country. This song is performed many times on stage. Different groups sang it differently. And today I will show you that.

Here is a translation of the first part of song. Each line is sung twice.
I will go into a new stable.
I will saddle the black horse
Then I'll go to the field
There I'll tie the my horse
And go for a beautiful girl.

This variant is (in my opinion) the closest to the original recording. Music band "Palace" sings this song.

This version of the song created by Belarusian band "Klich".

This is a rock version of "Stable" performed by the band B.N.

And this is a very interesting version of the song. Russian project "Ivan Kupala" creates their cover versions of folk songs. They often twist two or three songs in a single composition. Therefore, you will hear two Belarusian songs simultaneously. "Stable" starts on the 30th second.

Agro and Eco Tourism

Since hotel industry in Belarus is pretty poorly developed - I'm not sure if there are any hotels rated above three stars - lately a so called agro-tourism is becoming popular. Agro-Tourism is when a native person or local of the area offers tours to their Agriculture project to allow a person to view them growing, harvesting, and processing locally grown foods, such as coconuts, pineapple, sugar cane, corn, or any produce the person would not encounter in their home country. Often the farmers would provide a home-stay opportunity and education.

Mushroom hunting, gathering wild berries and medicinal plants with experts are some ways to spend time on such tours.

The thing is that there is pretty much no private land in Belarus. You can camp in any forest, lie down and dream in every meadow, swim in every lake. Some general common sense fire hazard and nature conservation rules apply and that's it. Agro tourism allows you to live in Belarusian village - out there in nature. You get to eat simple Belarusian peasant food, perhaps even help in the fields or with cattle. This takes you from 21st century into 18th within a day. Forget SMS :)
